Piper on history of fasting
Wed Jan 24, 2018 8:56 pm
I found the beginning of this chapter to be very interesting. Reminding (or warning) us not to focus on how this person did it, or how that person did it, and that God often does things differently from one person to the next (probably because He made each of us different). And that God used those that had different (and sometimes opposing) views to reach the lost. Gives me hope that God can work through me despite my weaknesses and struggles.
But then he kind of went off-topic and started talking about hearing God's voice, and how do we know if it's God, and different ways that we hear God. I thought his discussion was correct, just seemed like a long rabbit trail in the middle of the history of fasting.
